Window Treatment from Clay and Beads

I made this from trinkets I made with clay. Then, I strung them with some beads and crocheted a valance to pull it all together. The cedar stick was found in the woods at Sweethome Retreat in Tennessee.

Fairy House from Clay

This ceramic fairy house was modeled from red clay. The video shows all sides as it rotates on the turntable. The photo shows the glazed piece before it was fired.

Fairy Stacked Houses

I love anything to do with fairies. Here is a set of fairy houses I made from clay. The four pieces stack on top of one another to form a fairy condo of sorts.

Mugs and Jugs

I unloaded the kiln today and here are the results of the low-fire glaze application. I think my 4" x 12" template is a bit large for mugs that are going low-fire. The clay shrinks more at a higher temperature.

To refresh your memory, here is what they looked like (minus the high-fire mugs that are yet to be fired) before they were fired.

Pottery Studio at Sweethome Retreat

Crafters in the Sky Art Studio at Sweethome Retreat continues to grow. We have added more space for drying items and to hold pieces that are awaiting a glaze firing.

In the upper photo, there are 15 mugs from the bisque firing on Saturday morning. Those were glazed over the weekend and went back into the kiln today. Will show the results in a future post.

In the photo below, I have several bowls about ready for the bisque fire. My grandsons were creative last weekend; I have several treasures to fire for them this week.

Napkin Holder from Clay

I made this napkin holder and spoon rest for my daughter. It has a rustic look and resembles leather; but, it is made from red clay.
